Crew

André learnt to sail in beautiful Sydney at the turn of the millennum. It was a passion he did not let go that quickly. He left Sydney as a competent crew and immediatly went on a Atlantic Crossing from Europe to the Caribbean. This got him definitly hooked. The idea for a longer sailing journey was planted.

What followed was many years chartering in the Mediterranean, another Atlantic crossing and a formal education to RYA Yachtmaster Offshore. The dream of a circumnavigation evolved as did the family life, but it never disappeared. In 2014 André and Eva Maria purchased Mirabella to get her ready for a longer voyage.

In his landlubber life, André manages large IT Programs and departments for financial institutions.

Eva Maria is probably the best helms man on board Mirabella. She likes to take the helm and stay in control and steers and excellent course.

She started sailing in the Mediterranean. Croatia, Corsica, Greece and Mallorca are some of her favourite cruising grounds. Eva Maria got an RYA Day Skipper certificat in the windy straits of Gibraltar.

Eva Maria manages all provision on board Mirabella and she is a superior cook. Every local ingredience is being sourced, stored and eventually used. Eva Maria is also the headmaster of the Mirabella boarding school. She gets terrific reviews from the students…

Amina was 2 years old when we started our journey in Europe. She is super adventurous, full of energy and enthusiasm and never listens to anyone, hence she is constantly injured.

Jaël is about to become a compentent crew. Over the course of our journey she fantatstically evolves into a very young crew. She is interested in the sailing, always helpful in the maintenance of the boat and scored her first fish in Sydney.
Jaël is an avid hiker and walks for hours without complaint.
